What matters now

  • The large discount to fair value meets weak quality (18/100). That raises the risk this is a value trap rather than a bargain.
  • The model range is unusually wide ($9.46 to $36.41). The outcome hinges heavily on assumptions, so read the point estimate with caution.
  • The large gap to fair value rests on thin data (low evidence): fewer applicable models and a shorter history. Read it with extra caution.
  • For a financial, book-value and earnings-based methods matter more than a cash-flow DCF, which fits banks and insurers poorly.

Analysis

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc (AFSIM) currently trades at $15.05, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is $21.08, implying the stock looks roughly 40.1% undervalued today. The Quality Score stands at 18/100 (below-average quality), in the Financial Services sector. Bull case: trading below our estimate, it may offer upside if the fundamentals hold. Bear case: a low price can be a value trap when quality is weak or the data is thin (evidence: low), always confirm before acting.

Over the trailing twelve months, AmTrust Financial Services, Inc generated revenue of $6.0B at a net margin of 4.3%. Revenue grew 7.1% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 7.1%. Net debt stands at $694M. Fundamentals as of Jul 25, 2026

Our scenario range runs from $9.46 (bear case) to $36.41 (bull case); at $15.05, the current price sits within that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades about 6% below its 52-week high and 23% above its 52-week low, currently below its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Financial Services peers we cover trades at 8% fair-value upside, at 40%, AFSIM screens cheaper than that median.

Fair Value models

Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small.
