What matters now
- For a financial, book-value and earnings-based methods matter more than a cash-flow DCF, which fits banks and insurers poorly.
- Our model range runs from C$9.54 (bear) to C$16.57 (bull), base C$13.26. The closer the price sits to the lower half, the larger the margin of safety.
- Quality 73/100 (solid quality) with high evidence: the data supports the verdict.

Analysis
Firm Capital Mortgage Investment Corporation (FC) currently trades at C$11.89, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is C$13.26, implying the stock looks roughly 11.5% undervalued today. The Quality Score stands at 73/100 (solid quality), in the Financial Services sector. Bull case: trading below our estimate, it may offer upside if the fundamentals hold. Bear case: a low price can be a value trap when quality is weak or the data is thin (evidence: high), always confirm before acting.
Over the trailing twelve months, Firm Capital Mortgage Investment Corporation generated revenue of C$42.3M at a net margin of 85.3%. Revenue declined 2.1% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 8.5%. Net debt stands at C$147M. Fundamentals as of Jul 17, 2026
Our scenario range runs from C$9.54 (bear case) to C$16.57 (bull case); at C$11.89, the current price sits within that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades about 3% below its 52-week high and 8% above its 52-week low, currently below its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Financial Services peers we cover trades at -25% fair-value upside, at 12%, FC screens cheaper than that median.
Fair Value models
Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small.
All 11 models by family
Widest divergence: Growth DCF (C$14.02) versus Earnings-Based (C$7.46). Highest evidence: Growth DCF (80).
