What matters now
- For a financial, book-value and earnings-based methods matter more than a cash-flow DCF, which fits banks and insurers poorly.
- Our model range runs from $14.28 (bear) to $23.80 (bull), base $19.04. The closer the price sits to the lower half, the larger the margin of safety.
- Quality 64/100 (solid quality) with high evidence: the data supports the verdict.

Analysis
Sompo Holdings Inc ADR (SMPNY) currently trades at $21.44, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is $19.04, implying the stock looks roughly 11.2% overvalued today. The Quality Score stands at 64/100 (solid quality), in the Financial Services sector. Bear case: priced above our estimate, the market already discounts strong expectations. Bull case: above-average quality can justify a premium, the entry price still matters most (evidence: high).
Over the trailing twelve months, Sompo Holdings Inc ADR generated revenue of $5.7T at a net margin of 11.2%. Revenue grew 11.7% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 15.8%. The balance sheet holds a net cash position of $389B. Fundamentals as of Aug 13, 2026
Our scenario range runs from $14.28 (bear case) to $23.80 (bull case); at $21.44, the current price sits within that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades near its 52-week high and 59% above its 52-week low, currently above its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Financial Services peers we cover trades at -4% fair-value upside, at -11%, SMPNY screens richer than that median.
Fair Value models
Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small.
All 4 models by family
Widest divergence: Multiples ($4,072) versus Asset-Based ($1,949). Highest evidence: P/E Multiple (63).

Quality Score breakdown
Of which business quality 64 · Market factors (momentum, volatility) 78
Non-valuation factor families (profitability, growth, cashflow, financial strength, momentum …), each academically grounded. Valuation itself sits in the Fair Value and is deliberately excluded here to avoid double-counting.
All values are scores from 0 to 100 (100 = best against fixed, research-based bands), not percentages. The three market factors (momentum, 52-week proximity, low volatility) are displayed but carry zero weight in the headline number: market sentiment is not a business property.
