What matters now

  • For a financial, book-value and earnings-based methods matter more than a cash-flow DCF, which fits banks and insurers poorly.
  • Our model range runs from $59.59 (bear) to $99.32 (bull), base $79.45. The closer the price sits to the lower half, the larger the margin of safety.
  • Quality 66/100 (solid quality) with high evidence: the data supports the verdict.

Analysis

Zions Bancorporation, National Association (ZION) currently trades at $70.58, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is $79.45, implying the stock looks roughly 12.6% undervalued today. We read business quality at 66/100 (solid quality), in the Financial Services sector. Bull case: trading below our estimate, it may offer upside if the fundamentals hold. Bear case: a low price can be a value trap when quality is weak or the data is thin (evidence: high), always confirm before acting.

Over the trailing twelve months, Zions Bancorporation, National Association generated revenue of $3.4B at a net margin of 28.4%. Revenue grew 10.2% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 14.1%. Net debt stands at $1.5B. Fundamentals as of Jul 19, 2026

Our scenario range runs from $59.59 (bear case) to $99.32 (bull case); at $70.58, the current price sits within that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades near its 52-week high and 56% above its 52-week low, currently above its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Financial Services peers we cover trades at 42% fair-value upside, at 13%, ZION screens richer than that median.

Fair Value models

Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small.
