What matters now

  • The price sits above even our optimistic bull case ($18.51). The favourable scenario is already priced in.
  • The model range is unusually wide ($3.08 to $18.51). The outcome hinges heavily on assumptions, so read the point estimate with caution.
  • The large gap to fair value rests on thin data (low evidence): fewer applicable models and a shorter history. Read it with extra caution.
  • Solid but not exceptional quality (50/100) and above fair value, neither a clear bargain nor a standout compounder.

The Quality Score stands at 50/100 (solid quality), in the Energy sector. Bull case: the Asset-Based group reads highest at a median of $30.13 per share, and 0 of the 4 models we run sit above the $74.34 price. Bear case: the Dividend Discount group reads lowest at $16.17, and 4 of the 4 models stay below the price. Evidence for this calculation is low.

Our scenario range runs from $3.08 (bear case) to $18.51 (bull case); at $74.34, the current price sits above that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades near its 52-week high and 339% above its 52-week low, currently above its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Energy peers we cover trades at −59% fair-value upside, at −85%, PBF screens richer than that median.

Fair Value models

This estimate rests on fiscal year 2025 figures, and about 8 months have passed since. In that time the company retained roughly $1.84 per share, which is 12.3 % of the fair value. The fair value deliberately does not add this in: the models value reported figures, not a projection.

Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted, family-balanced blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small. Every input is real reported data, nothing guessed.

Model Bear Bear = the cautious scenario: the same model computed with conservative anchors (lower growth, margins and valuation multiples). Together with Bull it frames a plausible valuation range, not a price target.BaseBull Bull = the optimistic scenario: the same model computed with favourable anchors (higher growth, margins and valuation multiples). Together with Bear it frames a plausible valuation range, not a price target. Evidence
