Analysis

Insteel Industries Inc (IIIN) currently trades at $32.29, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is $31.48, implying the stock looks roughly 2.5% fairly valued today. The Quality Score stands at 73/100 (solid quality), in the Industrials sector. Bear case: priced above our estimate, the market already discounts strong expectations. Bull case: above-average quality can justify a premium, the entry price still matters most (evidence: high).

Over the trailing twelve months, Insteel Industries Inc generated revenue of $690M at a net margin of 6.2%. Revenue grew 7.5% year over year. It earns a return on equity of 12.1%. The balance sheet holds a net cash position of $34.7M. Fundamentals as of Jul 18, 2026

Our scenario range runs from $19.86 (bear case) to $46.01 (bull case); at $32.29, the current price sits within that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades about 22% below its 52-week high and 33% above its 52-week low, currently below its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Industrials peers we cover trades at -72% fair-value upside, at -3%, IIIN screens cheaper than that median.

Fair Value models

Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small.
