What matters now
- The large discount to fair value meets weak quality (42/100). That raises the risk this is a value trap rather than a bargain.
- The price is below even our cautious bear case (€18.69). The market is more pessimistic than our downside scenario.
- The large gap to fair value rests on thin data (low evidence): fewer applicable models and a shorter history. Read it with extra caution.
- A fairly wide model range (€18.69 to €47.47) leaves room in how you read the outcome.

Analysis
LANXESS Aktiengesellschaft, a specialty chemicals company, (LXS) currently trades at €16.43, while our model-based Fair Value estimate is €33.08, implying the stock looks roughly 101.3% undervalued today. The Quality Score stands at 42/100 (below-average quality), in the Basic Materials sector. Bull case: trading below our estimate, it may offer upside if the fundamentals hold. Bear case: a low price can be a value trap when quality is weak or the data is thin (evidence: low), always confirm before acting.
Over the trailing twelve months, LANXESS Aktiengesellschaft, a specialty chemicals company, generated revenue of €5.4B at a net margin of -12.1%. Revenue declined 13.9% year over year. It earns a return on equity of -16.8%. Net debt stands at €2.1B. Fundamentals as of Jul 16, 2026
Our scenario range runs from €18.69 (bear case) to €47.47 (bull case); at €16.43, the current price sits below that range. Bear and bull are the same models run on conservative and optimistic assumptions (margins, growth, valuation multiples), so a plausible valuation range, not a price target. The share trades about 40% below its 52-week high and 50% above its 52-week low, currently below its 200-day average. For context, the median of 10 Basic Materials peers we cover trades at -58% fair-value upside, at 101%, LXS screens cheaper than that median.
Fair Value models
Each model estimates fair value its own way; the Fair Value above is the evidence-weighted blend. Evidence (0–100) measures how completely this model’s inputs are available: well-fed models carry more weight in the blend. The spread across models is intentional, each one stresses a different value driver; dividend models, for instance, come out structurally low when payout is small.
All 4 models by family
Widest divergence: Multiples (€41.63) versus Dividend Discount (€0.9700). Highest evidence: Gordon GGM (70).
